Custom Natural Gemstones Jewelry ~ Happy Woman Jewelry

Designer Laura Buckner creates Happy Woman Jewelry with her husband Tim. They use precious and semi-precious gemstones to create one-of-a-kind designs. The gemstones and pearls are handpicked from traders and friends who travel the globe.

Laura and Tim are pursuing their life's dream. Deep in the heart of Northern California, their solar powered home and jewelry studio is surrounded by fruit trees, gardens, oak woodlands, and vineyards. They grow most of their own food, preserving their produce throughout the summer and fall months. Tim brings 30 years of experience as a Ranch and Vineyard Manager to the business and delights in creating jewelry with Laura, in his own distinct style.  Both have a passion for the work they do.

Laura received her degree in Environmental Science from U.C. Davis in 1980 and worked in the field of Environmental Education for several years.  Previously, she was also a Ranger Naturalist with the National Park Service at both Pt. Reyes National Seashore and Yosemite National Park.  Now she is a full time artist and jewelry designer. She believes in what she does and puts her love into her work.

Laura has a long and varied career as an artist — printmaker, basket weaver, doll maker, spinner, weaver and painter. She brings to her work a synthesis of all these arts, plus the stories she has gathered on this journey. For her, designing a necklace is like painting a picture: she works with an amazing palette of unique elements. She shares the joy and magic of her jewelry with people from all parts of the world.

Laura launched her Happy Woman Jewelry line in 1995. Some galleries have now carried her work for over 15 years.  Happy Woman Jewelry is available throughout Northern California in galleries, museums, parks and shops.
